April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th April, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single Different. In her 14th year April spent a lot of her time writing and practicing songs. She began writing alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA soon after. April added other themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for some of friends who dealt with concerns like peer pressure problems, as well as teenager suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing following as a lifestyle influencer and works for popular clean beauty company Ilia. She has a disability that is a component of her identity, but it's not the entire of the picture. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny her handicap. It also doesn't make it a point to emphasize the issue. It's a reminder. The message? We have many different aspects, that our identities and physical bodies aren't what they seem. I do not want this to determine me. I do not intend to become an influencer in which I only discuss because there are so many other aspects to my life. Lockhart states in video form from her residence in Nashville. My day-today life is not affected by it. I go about my regular daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. It's also part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken will be one that lasts a lifetime, but she can be a role model in this regard. She admits that she has gone through phases where she was uncomfortable dressing in certain styles that showed her arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she wants and posts pictures on Facebook in awe. To her, self-love was a long trip. This is a process, and I'm not sure you'll ever get there. It's important to surround yourself with those who are able to understand the person you are.
